The Posey Stop Sign Door Banner is a mesh banner with bright red octagonal stop sign that easily attaches to a door frame up to 53 inches wide the included hook-and-loop (Velcro) strips. It can also be removed quickly in case of emergency. The mesh banner measures 53 inches long and 12 inches wide. Caregivers will find the Stop Sign Door Banner provides a bold visual reminder for their loved one to not enter a restricted or unsafe area. Stop Sign Door Banner
I am very pleased with our purchase of the Posey Stop Sign Door Banner. After experiencing a couple of nights with my 87 year-old mother trying to wander out the garage door, we decided we had better put a stop sign banner up to deter any further attempts as there is a step down into the garage and we were afraid she would fall. Ever since placing the Stop Sign Banner on the doorway, we have had no other incidents and feel that my mother is much safer as a result. If I were to suggest one small thing it would be to make the banner a little more adjustable as it was a little too long for our doorframe and as a result I had to attach the Velcro strips directly onto the walls on each side of the door frame.

Simple, but very Effective!
We ordered these banners for one of our memory care neighborhoods and they worked beautifully to keep our sweet resident safe. Q:
My mother is a resident at a Dementia CBRF. She is having difficulty with MULTIPLE residents wandering into her room and rummaging through her belongings. I purchased the Posey Stop Sign Banner to prevent this from happening. I was told by the nurses at this facility that I could not put it up because it is a restraint. I am a retired RN who has worked in long term care for 33 years. The facility I last worked at is using this device and it has been effective. They are still using them to this day. Can you shed any light on this problem for me?

A:
The Posey Stop Sign Door Banner attaches to the door frame with simple Velcro and is easy to remove. I don't see how they can define it as a restraint when it doesn't restrain anything. The Posey Stop Sign Door Banner simply serves as a physical que to let someone know they probably should not be entering. You might want to consider the Wireless Wander Door Alarm, CSG5959. If the caretakers will not allow you to use the banner you could still use the Wireless Wander Door Alarm to at least notify your mother when someone has opened her room, allowing her to catch them.

Can the Posey Stop Sign Door Banner be purchased with magnet instead of adhesive??? If so what is the order number and the cost per banner. Thanks

A:
There isn't a caution or stop sign with magnetic fastening. We offer 3 different stop sign banners, two use adhesive velcro strips and the third has plastic grommets that screw into the door frame to which the banner attaches to.

Can you make a STOP, octagonal, red sign that is an exact replica (size and color) of those seen on public streets. And. , magnetized for use on a refrigerator door.. If not an exact-size replica, how close can you get.

We do not manufacture the Posey Stop Sign Door Banner, we are a supplier of the product. You may be able to have what you need made at a print shop or a shop that makes vinyl signs or store front signs. They may have the capability to create a magnetic sign like what is made for vehicles.
