No Drill Brushed Stainless 1.5D Grab Bars
are heavy duty 18 gauge stainless steel grab bars that are ADA approved for fall prevention and balance assistance. Caregivers will find these bath safety bars are easy to install and do not require drilling. The unique installation system "nie wieder bohren" ("no drilling required" in German) alternative attachment technology secures these grab bars to a wide variety of surfaces such as tile, ceramic, marble, granite, stone, glass, brick, metal.
The No Drill Brushed Stainless 1.5D Grab Bars include a unique mounting system that allows the grab bar to be placed exactly where needed and at whatever angle is required to accommodate the user. The patented mounting adapter and adhesive create an extremely durable seal to secure the bars to smooth, non-porous surfaces. These premium grab bars are made of 304 stainless steel and meet the ASTM F446-85 requirements to be ADA compliant. This is the only professional grade no drill technology approved for use on grab bars. Look for the nie wieder bohren logo to know you are buying the best. I am looking at grab bars. I see something about being ADA compliant. But my understanding is that the ADA doesn't approve products. Please advise what it means when listed with your products. Thank you.

When installed properly on a sturdy surface, the system exceeds the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
requirements for a weight capacity of 250 lbs. However, grab bars are not designed to support a person’s total weight and rather to provide for stability and assistance. Here is more information about ADA standards:

Can this be installed inside of a shower where it will get wet on a regular basis? I don’t see anything about it being or not being waterproof and just wanted to double check first. Thanks!

Yes! The adhesive will not decay, withstands UV radiation, is water-resistant and is not damaged by freezing (however, it should be applied at a temperature between 40 and 105F (+5 and +400C).

Will this no drill grab bar work with a fiberglass shower?

A:
Actual performance varies on plastics and fiberglass and does not meet ADA specifications for load bearing. Lifetime guarantee does not apply if used on these surfaces. For grab bars we only recommend and warranty for use on natural stone, tile, glass, metal, and concrete due to ADA requirements and because the surface must be flat, rigid, and free of debris, coatings, and sealants.

Almost any smooth or rough surface is suitable if it is firm and able to bear the load in question. The system is perfect for high-quality materials that one does not want to damage by drilling and is suitable with ceramic (tiles), stone, marble, granite, glass, concrete, metal, wood, and many plastics*. Based on the load bearing for grab bars, it is recommended that you use this only on tile, natural stone, metal, and heavy-duty glass. Unsuitable surfaces, on the other hand, include plaster, wallpaper, and sheetrock, which do not provide sufficient firmness and support for surface attachments. There is no adhesion to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon). These surfaces are rarely found in tub surrounds or bath enclosures.

Please see the installation instructions. The glue adheres to a smooth, clean surface and should not be installed over the grout lines.
