HandiThings is a family owned and operated business established in 1998 by Mary Ann, an Occupational Therapy Assistant, and her husband Greg, a designer and engineer. While working for a large school district, Mary Ann found that the majority of her students had handwriting difficulties. A unique tool was needed that would facilitate the development of an appropriate pencil grasp. This would allow the student to focus on the basics of letter formation, size, and line/space adherence. To satisfy this need, she and her husband conceived and developed their first product: the HandiWriter. All of their subsequent products have been developed from the direct needs encountered in the educational and therapeutic environment. They now have a wide variety of fine motor and weighted products being sold throughout the US and around the world.
