The Glide Heelift Suspension Boot : Bariatric Size has a durable exterior that allows the user to reposition their leg as needed while the boot remains securely in place. The durable exterior moves easily over the sheets while providing a pressure-free environment for the heel. In pressure ulcer prevention regimens, suspending the heel is appropriate for at-risk patients who are immobile, post-operative, or suffer from diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or dietary deficiencies. This suspension boot is an ideal addition to existing treatment regimens and also can be used in cases of foot drop, flaccid paralysis (non-spastic), pre and post-operative hip fractures, and skin grafts. The beveled elevation pad lifts the heel and suspends it in a protective space, transferring the pressure heel to the lower leg. The foam pads can be customized for pressure relief for the Achilles tendon and Malleolar decubitus, and support for foot drop. Two adjustable hook-and-loop straps secure the boot in place, and an optional forefoot strap is included. Ventilation holes provide additional air circulation to promote increased comfort and a cooler boot. The Glide Heelift Suspension Boot : Bariatric Size is machine washable if placed in a net laundry bag with the Velcro® straps closed and the extra elevation pads removed.
