Akton Polymer Mattress Overlays

The Akton Polymer Mattress Overlays are used by hospitals and long term care facilities as significant component in prevention and treatment of decubitus ulcers. The gel mattress pads are made of 100% smooth Akton Polymer, a pressure relief viscoelastic polymer that will not migrate like gels and does not promote bacterial growth.

Akton Polymer Mattress Overlays effectively reduce pressure and shear, the two leading causes of pressure sores, decubitis ulcers and skin breakdown. These pressure relief gel mattress pads do not require pumps, electricity or special training to use. The Akton polymer pads can be used under clients with existing decubitus ulcers and the bed surface height increases less than 1 inch, allowing the user to easily transfer from the bed. The Akton Polymer Mattress Overlay with Hitch includes a hook and loop addition used to secure one end of the overlay to the head of the bed. The hitch will reduce slippage when the bed is raised.
