The Akton Polymer Heel and Elbow Pads are soft gel cushions that provide effective pressure relief and skin protection. Caregivers for people at risk for, or diagnosed with, compromised skin disorders will find these gel pads helpful for preventing pressure sores. These gel heel and elbow protectors are sold as a pair and are available in 1/4 or 1/2 inch thicknesses.

Akton Polymer Heel and Elbow Pads are made of an 100% smooth Akton viscoelastic polymer. This soft material looks and feels like a gel to reduce the development of pressure sores by resisting shearing forces. Akton polymer will not leak, flow or absorb fluids, nor will it bottom out under heavy loads. It is tissue equivalent, moving with the user, not against them. Akton polymer will not support microbiological growth and easy to clean with standard disinfectant. The pads are sealed by a waterproof film and secure in place with a soft adjustable velcro strap. These protectors require no laundering and need only a wipe over with antiseptic solution or mild detergent to be kept fresh and odor free. The unique polymer consistency is not liquid gel, so bottoming out cannot occur. The Akton Polymer Heel and Elbow Pads help caregivers provide comfort and pressure relief for users at risk or diagnosed with compromised skin disorders.

A: One size fits most. There is a velcro strap that allows users to tighten or loosen as needed. If more length is needed you can get any velcro over the counter to add to the strap.
